There are basically 3 types
of RV warranty coverage:
Coach
Coverage Only
Coach coverage usually covers your coach components only, not your engine
components. We really don't recommend this type of coverage because the price
is very similar to a full coverage policy.
Named
Component Coverage
Named component coverage will only list items on the coach itself as
well as the chassis that are covered by the policy. If the part is not listed,
it will not be covered. Please note: You may have to pay extra surcharges for
optional packages for such items as Seals & Gaskets coverage, Audio Video
package, Slide-Outs, Leveling Jacks, etc with this type of policy.
Exclusionary
Coverage
Exclusionary coverage will detail only the items that are not covered
by the policy. If it is not listed in the not covered section or in the exclusions
section, the part will be covered with this policy.
Two Very Important items to look for in your
warranty coverage.
Seals
& Gaskets Coverage
This will cover repairs to any covered component if the covered part failure is
caused by a bad Seal or Gasket. For instance: If your rear main seal goes out
in your rear end and you don't have seals or gaskets coverage, the warranty company
will deny the claim and you will be responsible for the cost of the repair.
Normal
Wear & Tear
This coverage is the most important to look for. Most warranty companies will
exclude normal Wear & Tear form their coverage. This allows the warranty company
to deny any claim they want when a part fails, the warranty company will tell
you the cause of the failure was that the part simply wore out. This is why you
must look for a warranty policy that includes normal Wear & Tear.
The Warranty Advisors staff has put together a checklist for you to print out
to help assist you in selecting the right warranty coverage for your RV. Remember
a sound warranty coverage should include Normal Wear & Tear also Seals &
Gaskets coverage. [Click
